Articles keep saying that he's surpassing expectations. So, expectations weren't that high. These folks can't make predictions without those stan/hater glasses.

It didn't really go down. Billboard and HITS are predicting slightly different things (they always do), and 400-500k was an early prediction that was given a few hours after the album release, and that's because they were unsure. You rarely ever see a prediction in a 100k margin like that.
People think its funny that he is selling this because many people SWORE he was going to sell upwards 700, 800+ and even hit a million all the way until Sunday and Monday.
Now that it is only 400K, people are singing a different tune. I'm sure Bieber and his team was expecting a lot more though.
