The poll results show that people are mostly voting based only on who has the better voice, that's why Kelly is winning. The answer for that question is obvious.

I honestly don't understand how anyone could believe Kelly is even close to the songwriter, or overall musician that Taylor is. This isn't even worth arguing anymore.

These are all from her last two albums, All I Ever Wanted and Stronger. My December was a huge learning experience for Kelly when it comes to songwriting, and I think these are spectacular. Sure, Taylor Swift might be better, but I can't with people saying Clarkson doesn't write her own music.

Writing all your own songs =/= better songwriter. Sometimes it takes a true artist to stand up and admit that they could make a better song by collaborating with someone else who has a different perspective on an issue/emotion/situation.

I'm not too familiar with Taylor Swift's discography but all of the songs I've heard that she's written (aka the singles) all have literally the exact same theme, which is basically "I'm young and naive and some guy took advantage of that." I honestly don't mean to throw shade but let's be real... Taylor's songs aren't necessarily the end all be all just because she writes them. Versatility in subject matter is also important.

Kelly has better vocals hands down, no questions asked. She also has written a lot of amazing things, whether someone worked with her on the song or not is irrelevant. She only credits herself on songs that she's done the majority of the work on.

Taylor's a pretty damn good songwriter, but take a look at some of the videos I posted from Kelly, you'll see she's pretty great too
