If Gays continue to hate straights, then how do you want the hatred to diminish? you cannot expect to have tolerance and kindness, MUCH LESS ACCEPTANCE from them if you continue to hate them. It's a 2-way street.

You think religion is the cause of bigotry? It's simply a justification.

This is true. But the misunderstanding of religious principles is what pioneered bigotry. It technically is the cause even if underlying discriminatory characteristics in people reveal themselves later on.

It may but I don't see it anytime soon. As least not as soon as we'd love to.

I tend to think the same, because not all religious folk are bigots. I, myself, am religious but I am also accepting, sympathetic and supportive of gays/lesbians. Bigots will find anything to cling to, even religion.

If they have no justification, they have no argument. So if there was no religion this problem would probably be non-existent or much less prominent.
