Everything was going fine until the promo singles.

IF I remember correctly, the radio updates for Judas were actually starting to pick up around the same time TEOG went on iTunes. But then, radio started to play TEOG, dropped Judas, and thus TEOG became the next official single. Too much was happening.

Yep. And then the Joseph Kahn incident happened and they rushed half a video.

White Rose Thorns sounds like such a good title. I want it to be some 8-minute track featuring Elton. I expect the News Reports after Diana's death featured in the song and a flawless vocal performance.

She would have pulled it off fine if she hadn't put out TEOG video.

Judas -> TEOG single wise simply transferred momentum. The video killed the momentum, and then Y&I hampered it even further (outside of the US.)

She should have released Judas as a promo single and done the same MV video for it. Then release TEOG.

Not to mention the genius planning that goes behind the whole fame trilogy and the amount of detail that goes into it. It.. it just slays me so hard.

As I've said before, everything about the BTW era bares resemblance to a cult classic. No, the album wasn't ripped to pieces, but it is very cheesy and very dated. The album cover is cheap. The videos are lengthy, detailed, and mostly lack professional directors. I do believe that years from now Born This Way will be 'the underrated' era that fans will like because it is the underdog, possibly all too intentional by Gaga.

Just imagine if she gives us something epic on the level of Just Dance.

Also if it's true about Interscope not doing a huge promo campaign for this album, it's the best.

She is very overexposed and the last thing we need is seeing Gaga toys being given away at McDonalds and the album cover paved on streets

Yoü and I killed her Top 40 appeal. Nothing released from BTW after that was going to do well, especially not during a holiday freeze.

Lies. I don't know why you guys thought You And I would flop, at least in America. America is very open to singles like that, it was a great HAC/AC song to play. A lot of people who weren't previously Gaga fans liked that song. They were the ones who bought it, and it widened her audience.

BTW era was a total misstep in her career and we should just hope it didn't derail her success permanently.

Now on to the White Rose Thorns era.

I still think it was a great single choice tho, so many have a new found respect for her just because of that song but she should have released another single before that and Y&I could have come last
