She just needs good music and it'll do great, no matter what.

Well, Bruno hasn't been in the public eye since his last single dropped out of the top 10; he can't release on short notice with little hype and expect to match Gaga's album sales. His next lead single will be big, but something tells me that after that he won't exactly be pumping out "Grenade"-type hits.
Bruno possibly peaked in 2010-2011; if his album is good it could bring him more success, but if it's not good enough he won't continue to be as big. Male pop artists are frequently short-lived in today's market (see Taio Cruz, Jason Derulo).
Gaga's sort of in her own league still. Sure it's been somewhat jeopardized by the less-than-stellar performance of the BTW era, but she is still the only person who sells 6 million albums a year, has worldwide smashes,
and has absolutely huge tours. If she makes good music, nothing stands in her way at this point.
Now if she puts out another album with a ton of filler (though I do love those filler songs), she might not be so lucky.
