The Teenage Dream era was such a journey. As a non Katy stan, I've gone from liking her when she wasnt that much of a threat with California Gurls & Teenage Dream to being pressed cos her singles were outperforming my favs by miles and hating her, but she's really won me over and Wide Awake is just such a perfect close to the two years.

My thoughts exactly.
I started off the era as a stan, disliked her, hated her, went back to admiring her singles and videos, and now I appreciate her again.

It's not about the theme of the video.. it's everything about it, the way it's shot, the plot, the special effects.. very cheesy and amateurish. I don't mean to offend anyone but I don't see how anyone who's older than 14 can take this video seriously. same for part of me.. it's set in freaking military yet it's just as pop and california girls
I like Katy perry though, I think she's a solid pop star and I don't mind kids listening to her
Uh, it is about the theme. The theme is the foundation of the video. Everything that sits on it is a complement or a mask. The childish visuals are a mask but they are still stunning. The theme is still there.
