3 of those have a completely different sound than the gritty and rough screaming of the other...my choice is obvious

When someone screams every damn song, it annoys me. MJB annoys the hell out of me b/c she repeats what she says.

Whitney and Mariah annoy me when their mouth is a fricking zero, Beyonce usually screams grunts, and Xtina also does that, to make a show of herself. My vote is for...

i love xtina and her voice, that´s how i discovered her(just 3-4 months ago LOL), but i agree, that she tries to hard sometimes, too many strained screams and some unnecessary runs, it´s like "we know you can sing"...she´s not the most technical skilled singer (no school whatsoever, unlike whitney and mariah, just raw talent) but she has an enormous power and soul when she sings, it´s like her life depended on every note sometimes...and that is what makes so memorable and unique as a singer, she AFFECTS me and a couple of million people more!
And when she tone it down, or when her voice is in perfect shape....nobody beats her

btw, this thread is quite obviousbly done to diss xtina, but who cares.....last i heard, fergie "sang" like a strained cat (when she tries to sing that is)

I'll say a tie between Fantasia because her shrieking irritates me, and both Aguilera and her "mimi-me" clone's (for the stupid people, that's Melody of PCD) screaming are over the top, or come off as "trying too hard".

me too her tone annoys me like in "deja vu" yet i do like "listen" .... when she sang it in ophra that was powerful performance

and i also guess i´m just a sucker for powerful, extreme vocals (raw and screamy....yes if it´s on key and includes soul and passion!)....after all, most of the stuff i listen deals with EXTREME vocals, and me myself is a raw power-singer....
