The fact that only Xmas/XFactor/Charity singles ever sell this much, and this is Summer is an incredible feat. It also helps that it's a great song that is managing to carry the album. Good luck Biebs

What does it matter? Cheryl will never be known as a worldwide star..only a UK star, the only place people know her name.. People all over the world knows who Nicole is whether or not she sells records as a solo artist... People know her in places like North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Australia, and possibly Africa too

IMO not impressive. She had so much promo, and is known for her massive first week sales. I was expecting 200k.. i mean she performed this literally everywhere, and also Calvin harris is pretty big RN after WFL.
So yeah, good for her, but not outstanding by any means.

Either way, congratulations to Cheryl Cole and I really like the song and I loved her performance on The Voice UK.

I disagree. I don't really think there was anything that special about FF (or Circus for that matter--especially after the flawless Blackout).
Long live the Queen!

You keep holding onto that delusion, sweetie. I love me some Nicole but even I'll admit that most people only know her as "that chick from the Pussycat Dolls." Hardly the the international superstar you're trying to make her out to be.

I'm not a Cheryl hater (I love Call My Name) but I'm just trying to say that Nicole is known everywhere, maybe not always as a "international solo superstar" but what does that matter?
People make big deals between them, but moral of the story, it's not like her name is going in a record book, but whatevs. I guess I can say I'm sorry just so this argument is brought to rest

I assume you don't live in the UK?
Calvin Harris has been popular here since 2008, when he got his first #1 with Dizzee Rascal called Dance Wiv Me (which was probably as big, or even bigger than We Found Love). Infact, We Found Love might not even exist if Calvin hadn't been put on the map from Dance Wiv Me.
And she had less promo for this song than she did for Promise This, which sold 157,000 first-week in 2010, so it's impressive when you look at it that way.
A lot of people in the UK thought Cheryl's career would be over if she left X Factor.
