I don't think they're uptight; they're in the business so they have a right to nominate people, films are their life. At the Oscars actors nominate actors, directors nominate directors (although in order to be a member you need to have a previous nomination or have a good film career), etc...

lol, both of which she has none.

All I'm saying about the film critics are yes they are entitled to their own opinions, but I don't really want them representing what they believe are the "best" movies. They are quite predictable.

What are you talking about? I never said Beyonce was going to get nominated or that she was a member of the Academy.

I saw the movie yesterday. What part of the film did Beyonce seriously deserve a nomination for Best Actress? I could barely remember some of her parts walking out of the theater. I was talking with the people who went with me to the movie, and we all agreed that Jennifer Hudson should have had the Best Actress Globe nomination. I will be extremely suprised if Beyonce takes home both awards, because she should only be taking Best Song. Is the competition that low this year in the actress category? Knowles was mostly perfect for the part, but she wasn't that great.
Set aside all of that, the movie itself is having a few similar aspects to Brokeback Mountain in terms of it being overrated, which could likewise backfire on the film's success @ the Oscars. Die-hard fans of musicals, Beyonce, and the story** will not address any flaws or speak of any negativity towards this one. Overall, I thought the movie was good-OK, but not on the level as some critics are claiming it to be.
And why did this have to be released on X-Mas day?

Again, D.G. wasn't that special; It would have been just fine on a Friday.

Don't worry Beyonce won't win, Streep will and her only threat in the best actress in a comedy/musical category is Annette Bening not Beyonce.

Well Bee already said she knows she wont win. JHud deserved best actress but the competition is too big at the oscars seeing shes up against Helen and they dont want to take a chance. They want her to win an oscar

Honestly, Beyonce wasn't deserving of a best actress nomination considering she DID have a smaller part than Jennifer. But I really don't know how you can say the MOVIE is overrated, because I thought it was incredible and it definitely wasn't because I'm a Beyonce fan--I was more impressed with Jennifer because she had a much more prominent part.
