I also believe it's because Gaga has displayed to the general public that she can sing live very well and can both shock you with an array of out-of-this-world outfits and dancers and props or just a piano. And BTW's extensive promotional campaign helped show Gaga to people on a WW basis and spark interest in her performances and,therefore, a desire to go to her show and experience it once and for all.

That 7 month promotional campaign is doing more for Lady Gaga's tour than for her actual album sales.

She has the most loyal fanbase. She's a global phenomenon right now.
She has real talent and is one of the most influence people in the world.
And she always work so hard to put everything into her shows to make them fabulous and incredible.
