She's neither of those.
One of the main purposes of this game is to introduce us to a Lara that's more than sex, which is why her looks are softer and more girlish. This Lara has little to no experience when it comes to exploring. That, coupled with the fact that this game is more survivor oriented, makes for a unique Tomb Raider experience. This is a literally a new beginning.
