Yeah, I think it might match "Thankful" with the right promotion and good singles. I love all the songs I've heard so far (Well, "Open Toes" is cheesy lyrically, but the beat is hot!) She's always in the media though so as long as she can back it up with something good, I think she'll do well.

I think she could become an international star if they promote her well overseas.

She won't even come close to Carrie Underwood this will flop.

No,Kelly has a much greater vocal range.Kat should do good though.She needs to learn what works best for her vocal range,sometimes she sounds strained,like it takes everything out of her to sing.

She didnt win it. She came in second on the 5th season of American Idol.

I do not see Katherine going down the rock/rock-pop path whatsoever, no she won't be the next Kelly. (However, if she did...that could be quite hot y' sexy to see from my view)

As far as Debuts, she could do it, but I see her more likely to go over 120K on week 1. (Which will be at least 2x than that of the brat who won America's got Talent. ---But that's OK, she had 40-some minutes of fame, and can go through puberty now.)

As of currently, the ones who have shown promise in terms of long-term success (sales, and all that other stuff that makes the artists produce another CD) are Clarkson and Underwood. (W/ some regard to Daughtry and Hicks 300K Debuts)
As for others, who may be questionable: Studdard went down with his love/valentine's day-infused CD released this past fall, Fantasia is currently looking OK with her sophmore debut, Bice did 800K in US sales but is currently recooping from a hospitol surgery, and Aiken can go **** on himself to sadly stay alive. Then I have no idea where Degarmo stands.
