It's really not necessary to compare a Male singer to a Female singer. Their voices are totally different, totally different tones, textures and vocal ranges. I think they're both great (studio) wise especially. I'm not sure what you mean, but I mean, if your asking who knows their voice the best, and utilizes their voice the best, then that's Usher.
Rihanna has ALOT of room to grow, LIVE vocally. She is getting much better, but still... she has time. Usher is past his peak, and he's very seasoned, and mostly polished.
