The video is pretty much about the Dont Ask Don't Tell Policy
The soliders are supposed to be represented as Nazi's ( thier movements, holding the Nazi pyramid and the star of David) The Nazi's historically also repressed homosexual in addition to Jews. The video paints a negative view of the policy by expecting them to simply take orders and not express their sexuality, which causes them to assume the roles of Nazi-like gay soldiers due to feeling dehumanized. (The policy dehumanized gays by not allowing the same rights as straight individuals) To keep them feeling this way, they have these gay soldiers attacking each other (the part where they grunt really loud while pushing the other on the floor) so they don't unify and fight for their rights.
I think Gaga is mourning for her innocence during the funeral. She has white hair. It's snowing ( snow is white) and her palish makeup represents innocence and purity. The loss on innocence tormented her heart. (the ugly organ on the black pillow she's carrying)
When Gaga removes her religious nun outfit , it symbolizes that she doesn't agree with the facet of religions that is against homosexuals. It represents her acceptance of the Gays and after she does this , she joins them. When she swallows the rosary , it's suggesting that Religion is shoved down your throat, negative things happen. She dies/turns into that weird thing in the end. This represents when religion became oppressive , it leads to death of the homosexual's rights.
I hope I wasn't too confusing. I know the gun bra sequence represents something but I forgot what it is .
