I'm torn in my belief. I was born and raised a Catholic, and went to church every Sunday, studied in Catholic schools my whole life. I even read the Bible (I wouldn't recommend it for children though, scared me to tears). Until recently I started to think, actually think long and hard. Religion is man-made, yes. Its made to make us feel better, make us know that everything will be alright. That someone is watching us and will protect us and the only thing we have to do in return is pray, be kind, and spread the word. I don't believe in a hell, I think its man-made too. I don't believe in a creator anymore.
I DO believe in the Golden Rule, something taught to me as a child from Jesus and that is to do unto others as you'll have them do unto you. Show kindness to others if you want others to be kind, forgive others if you want to be forgiven too. I think if people lived by this simple rule we can be in a much better situation. If there is a God above, I will believe. But I will also know in my heart I led a good life, and carried what I was taught as a child with me. I showed kindness to others and my life should be judged by what I've done and not what I've believed.
