Maybe I'm just used to the Lana Del Rey/ASAP Rocky/Azealia Banks "instant celebrity" way of doing things, that I have no patience with artists. I don't know if I can't do another J.Cole situation, waiting 2 and a half years for a debut album.

i think you're forgetting the weeknd released literally 3 albums worth of material in the space of 1 year. that's pretty unprecedented. i'm a huge fan of his and i'm as eager for new material as anyone but i'm sure people can wait a little bit longer for him to deliver a solid debut album seeing as though he basically released 3 back-to-back out of nowhere.

It's a cute song, sure it lacks the originality of the stuff he released last year but it says he recorded this in 2009 so I guess that's just what his sound was like before he came up with what he does now.
