Exodus, yes, Carrie is really big here in the Philippines. I myself am a Carrie fan. Plus, Philippine radio isn't picking HTTAG up, they picked This Time up. :S

Well, Before He Cheats isnt mainly country, i guess. Yeah, kind of country cross-over. It is Mainstream stuff, aS WELL. But yeah, still weird to have like that.

The Philippine's music industry is really diverse because not one genre dominates the radio, even local and international (from Korea, U.S, U.K, Australia, Japan..etc) shares the radio.

If you guess really want to know what Filipino music really is....You should watch MYX channel rather than MTV.
MYX >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MTV.

Oh yes...here in the Philippines, OPM (Original Pinoy Music) is the best music we have. You can watch it through MYX channel. Different bands like Spongecola, Kamikazee, Hale, Callalily are the hottest bands right now here...I hope other pinoys would reply here for their comments!!!

I think you can probably tell from my name that I'm Filipino too lol
Anyway, there is definitely a healthy mix of pop, rock, ballads, r&b on Philippine Radio which is awesome. Everything from rock with Spongecola, Rivermaya, 6cyclemind to pop/ballads with Sarah Geronimo, Christian Bautista to R&B with South Border.
I was just finally able to listen to Spongecola's "Transit" album and WOW! Its even better than their first album. I can't stop listening to "Do You Know the Feeling." Everyone should check them out.
