I'll compare "21" to "Come Away With Me." Blockbuster album that had little influence to pop culture. Therefore, I'll choose option 3.

Multi platinum album in over 20 countries, gone diamond in 7, soon to be 8 countries, biggest album in 2011 & 2012 by a large margin and still selling well over 100K every week after 72 weeks, ....21 has also sold as much as "Come Away With Me" in half the time.....and thats without including "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" in the equation, yeah little or no impact

This is her Come On Over. I wouldnt dare say Thriller. Its impact is not that extreme.

But "Purple Rain" is still as current as ever...Being an eighties child always preferred Prince...

I love Adele, but nothing to me says this had a huge impact. She did not change the sound of music, the style of pop culture, or even the type of visuals and looks that people do. All of that goes into account when considering an album's legacy.

I think it was a huge album, and will be remembered, but like, Norah Jones "Come Away With Me" remembered. But with anything, time will tell. Her 3rd album has to be incredible!

Funny we are speaking about Norah, because I'm watching her storytellers now on VH1. Lol.

It was the first single and it eventually snowballed. It was released there in December 2010, entered the hot 100, fell out and didn't do much till late January and then was a top 20 hit in February 2011. Then it went to pop in March and was a #1 by May.

People saying she has no impact are delusional. My Dad Who is in his late 50s Confused Celine Dion with Adele when i played All By Myself Now if that's not impact...

No impact? Name me one other artist who had a #1 on the Hot 100 with a 100% piano/voice ballad? One week will do but Adele had multiple weeks with one. Also, please name me a song that crossed over to so many different genres than RITD in the last 25 years. Asked this before in this thread and, surprise surprise, no takers so far...

At his point, Thriller status is unreachable. But 21 is up there with the greatest/biggest albums of all time

Oh C'mon its at the very least a blockbuster.... certainly no less impactive than "Come Away with me" or "Jagged Little Pill"... unless of course you or someone else would like to give the rest of us some compelling reasons why its not in atleast the same league as them?

The fact that its being discussed THIS many times, proves it has had impact. Whether you like it or not.
