Do what she's doing now but be a bit more transparent with it, and not playing her hip hop supporters for chumps.
Though her pop/R&B tracks are definitely more standout than her general hip hop stuff anyway, with some major exceptions like Roman Holiday, HOV Lane and Beez in the Trap.
She'll do more Hip Hop with some crossover tracks after this album. She's noticing the backlash. I mean, the deleting of her Twitter, the feud with Hot 97, the sales drop and the negative reviews from both critics and fans make me believe that she will give more "hood Nicki." "Starships" and "Super Bass" have given her a small base overseas. Now she has to prove herself to the other side. Division can stay wishing she goes more pop with next album.
Thanks for spin-offing this thread from the other one. It was getting unnecessary.
I've noticed a lot of Barbz want a more Mixtape/Early Nicki-esque sound for the next album, but I just want more Hip Hop a la Roman's Revenge, Hello Good Morning, Roman Holiday, Come On a Cone, etc type album - laced with just a few straight hip hop/early Nicki tracks and 2-3 quality pop tracks. I like Hungry-Coming-For-Your-Heads Roman. When Roman was in that state, he could cater to both audiences successfully. 'Bottoms Up' was a prime example of that, having an AMAZING verse while urban and mainstream lapped it up.

Next album: 50% pop, 25% R&B, 25% Hip-Hop.
Pop tracks include dance tracks.
You know Nicki won't ever do it. She dragged Flex for filth when he implied she's a Popstar.
Pink Friday earned her urban support and got the mainstream audience interested in her. Roman Reloaded was originally supposed to keep urban at tide and maximize her mainstream potential, but as we've all seen, only the mainstream audience has been responding exceptionally well to Roman Reloaded.
I think she should focus on making a hip-hop album next era to wheel the urban fans back in. By that time she'll have had enough mainstream success with RR that pop will continue to support even if she goes back to her urban roots.
I seriously think a mixtape would solve all her problems, because it'd be for sure full hip-hop but she could still do some pop stuff on the albums.
Too bad she doesn't want to do anymore mixtapes.

!!!
She obviously isn't oblivious and is aware of all the backlash she's received this year due to releasing more pop-orientated music. There's nothing that Nicki hates more than being referred to as a popstar, so I am positive she'll return to her urban roots next era with some pop songs like SB to keep the mainstream/international audiences interested.
Her future in pop should end after PF:RR. Wayne experimented with rock, Nicki did pop. Now it's time to leave it in the dust and focus on hip hop, where Nicki's talent and charisma really shine.
Personally, I think (in order to keep everyone happy) she should do one of the following:
1. Release the next album with a structure similar to PF:RR, but also release a Hip-Hop mixtape.
2. Release a full-blown Hip-Hop album with 2 SB-esque songs, but release a Pop EP six months later.
The second one would be prime. I'm afraid the first option might send the wrong message to her hip-hop base. "You're only getting the Nicki you want on mixtapes; buy even less of my albums."
As I said in the Azealia thread, if Nicki's next proper studio album is all hardcore hip-hop with a few pop-rap tracks tacked on, I will let Willy publicly ridicule me anyhow he sees fit.
Some of you are so deluded, its ridiculous. Being Top 10 on the urban charts means **** all, the last three hip hop tracks flopped, and being #1 on the urban charts in the US isn't even Top 20 on the Hot 100 or even Top 100 on worldwide charts.
Nicki made a name for herself with hip-hop, but its the pop community that made her an international household name. Nobody outside of the US even acknowledges she's a hip-hop artist.
Heck, Capital FM called her a "dancefloor diva" a few weeks back...
I do agree that she can't keep going on and on about "first female rapper to..." if it's gonna be about the success of a song like Starships. Like, I know she raps on it, but it feels kind of cheap.
