I'd say that's music that has one of the characteristics I mentioned in the opening post such as meaning,lyrics a great voice etc

I can speak for P!nk. She can sing, dance, write songs, play 4 instruments etc
She has a strong vision and opinions. Everything she does has a meaning. Even she sings about dudes masturbating, there's a meaning behind it
She can make an album all on her own. Whether you like the music an 'artist' makes or not, that's subjective and has nothing to do with the genre.
