Too late tbh. She wouldn't be completely forgotten by then, but the risk of releasing a single that late would be unpredictable. She could either smash hard or flop hard.

I don't think she'll ever flop in a lead single, to be honest. She has a massive fanbase, ensuring a good debut, and if the song is awesome the public will pick up on it for sure!

It was just a really bad spot to be put in for her

Not to mention, TEoG was immensely overshadowed by RitD, GME, PRA and LFN in the US. She never attracts summer AirPlay as easily, even with LoveGame...

But I don't know if it's in her best interest to become a Rihanna-like artist with annualized releases. Sure, the short term benefits would probably help her (if the lead single is good) but in the long run I think people would get tired of her in general, not just current headlines.

issue is that she couldn't afford to take risks with the lead, which she definitely likes to do.
By waiting so long, radio will begin to demand something more radio friendly. For example, Ke$ha's waited so long that her lead will probably have to be typical dance versus anything tougher for radio to swallow.

Single in July and album in October seem to fit perfectly with her schedule.
Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we have a reasonable window of expectations. My body is ready

Part of that was because of the video. LFN had a massive video, and PRA had the whole shuffling thing going on.
Lady Gaga was just shuffling back and fourth on stairs.

Perhaps, but I think that's what she has to do anyway to demand the public's attention right now...

Don't forget, casual fans and radio listeners have barely heard from Gaga since last August when Y&I was at it's peak. That''s 10 months, a long time, that's why people are asking me anyway where Gaga is.
