Urban singles are a different matter.
This is just pop for right now.
Why can't she release the same song to pop and urban?
That's what all the other artists do... Like Rihanna relesed What's My Name? to both pop and urban, and it got to #2 on urban and #4 on pop (and #1 on the overall Hot 100).
Roman Holiday would do good on both pop and urban, but Nicki said she doesn't want to release it.
She purposely did pop songs and rap songs separately.
For instance, superbass is a blend but you don't really have that on this album.
The lyrics in sb are hip hop but the beat is pop.
She raps in her dance pop songs but the purpose is for them to be pop.
Basically, she's trying to do a dual thing and release urban songs to urb/rhy and pop songs to pop/rhy to be more diverse.
Roman Holiday will do well on urban. If What's My Name?, Super Bass and OMG can be urban hits, Roman Holiday easily can.
The way she's doing it now, it basically means all the dance songs become hits, and all the urban songs flop. Yet even Rihanna (who actually considers herself a pop star), is able to get urban songs to #1, because she actually releases them properly.
And the drum pattern in Super Bass is actually pretty much the same as many hip hop songs (while Starships isn't at all). Listen to the drums that come it at 0:16:
