I understand why some people don't like this album. In order to like this album, you must first GET IT. Not everyone can listen to this album, and if you can relate to it, this will be your favourite album of all time. Another thing, I really can't imagine someone with low IQ listening to this album... dunno, it just doesn't fit to me. Album has substance and lyrically it is amazing. Lyric in some songs are literally breathtaking. But like I said, it's not for stupid/mindless people who only listen to generic songs and mainstream **** with pointless lyric. Hence Nicki Minaj stans saying this album is stupid and overrated.
Personally, this album is something in between "Great" and "Amazing", so I'd give it 8.5.

It's perfect. Video Games is the only song I'm not here for. Born to Die (the song) made me a fan.

There's very little I don't enjoy about this debut. The production is top-notch, the beats (while understated) are sharp and give a modern spine to all the songs, and the orchestral elements are gorgeous and well arranged. And her distinctive voice and poignant lyrics (more brooding and atmospheric in their presence than anything else) suit the songs perfectly and create an overall experience with the album, rather than just a collection of songs.
The only reason I wouldn't give it a 9/10 is because the effervescence of the lyrics, while entirely appropriate for the material, isn't particularly striking or brilliant.

6/10 max. Lyrically it's pretty good. I like some of the production a lot. Vocally, meh.

Sadly, its still my favourite album this year. Every other new release I've heard was disappointing.

I gave it an 8 because it would be a 10 with maybe more tracks, a feature or two, and if LUCKY ONES was taken out.

9, it's pretty ****ing amazing and close to 10.
This also seems like a good time to rate it, considering it's been about half a year.

Perfect 10 for me. Best album of 2012 so far (and by a huge margin) and can't think of an album from 2011 that has had me listening on repeat without getting bored (and I'm a huge Adele stan!). Not one track I skip even after 5 months. This girl is one of the most talented artists to emerge for years, a view backed up by the seemingly endless stream of unreleased tracks getting to see the light of day just now. She has unreleased songs that destroy the entire (released) discography of other artists.

5/10. It seems like there was potential but everything just seems like too much. National Anthem is the ****ing worst.

10/10
When it first came out, I never thought I would still be listening to it 6 months later because I felt like I'd get tired of it quickly but quite the opposite is the case. It kept growing on me over time and now I really love every single song on it. I wouldn't change a single thing. The music, the lyrics, her voice, everything about this album is so unique, it draws me in every time I listen. I can't think of any other album that has managed to fascinate me like this recently.

"Critics agree with how average the album is ..."
If there was any lesson to be learnt from the whole Lana Del Rey episode over the past year is how shallow and tripe the reviewers in most music magazines and internet music sites are. These sheep wanted to seem cool, and 6 months ago, there was nothing cooler than to bash Lana. And that is what they did, writing reviews that had nothing almost to do with the album, but rather rehashed peripheral issues. For example the stupid review on Rolling Stone is almost entirely on her SNL performance. If I had had to make up my opinion about BTD based on what these idiots wrote, I would rather give up listening to music.

I'd say it's 7.5/10.
The album is hyped to the high heavens, it's not that phenomenal but whatever.
