256 for full discographies, 320 for single albums

I use AAC 320kbps vbr ripped from a FLAC or CD to play on my iPod. I sometimes use Apple Lossless. This is the highest quality. iTunes now has Mastered for iTunes which is great too.

MP4 is for video files.

Always download FLAC or Apple Lossless if you're *******ing.

MP3. Anything lower than 256kbps is unacceptable.

MP3 is horrendous, I'm surprised people still use that crap. I use AAC for my iPod, that's the one Apple has always used and for a good reason. If you get a new iPhone get one with bigger storage and download songs you love the most in Apple Lossless or FLAC, don't do every song that could be terabytes of memory. Maybe like 10 or 15.

I never hear a difference anyway.

AAC 256, because that's what iTunes uses.

File formats and bitrates don't make that much of a difference though. You wouldn't distinguish them if you were blind tested.

AAC and all my music is either 256 or 320kbps

I use iTunes plus and 320 kbps albums.
