Heartbreak on Hold is boring. I cant even separate tracks from each other. On a positive note there are good moments on Elephant, Daylight Robbery and Tonight.

It would be like the Ciara situation. She is lagging behind her peers who in turn can be considered as Beyonce and Rihanna. Her music is generic and not original so why would the US embrace it? Why would they embrace it when so many pop chicks over there are doing it already and better?
She clearly did a 90% dance album because dance music is hot and she thought people would eat it up. But sometimes a songs success isn't just based on the music. It is also based on the artist behind the music, as well as their likeability. If Rihanna released 'Let It Go', it would have been a top 5 hit. The UK is her biggest market, she has a massive following here and radio would have got right behind it. The UK is Rihanna's territory. I love Rihanna by the way but had she released 'Heartbreak On Hold', I'd have bitched about it as well.
The thing is, Rihanna doesn't put out dance albums anyway. She always uses the lead dance single to secure herself those decent first week album sales. When you listen to her albums, you only get two dance tracks on them with the project being dominantly urban. 'Loud' and 'Talk That Talk' followed that same formula. 'GGGB' was her poppiest album but she still switched it up. It is a true representation of what a BRILLIANT pop album SHOULD BE. I just cannot say that about 'Heartbreak on Hold'.

I agree with this post..
Although I really like this album, it's exactly how I feel about Alexandra right now. She has to find more of an identity when it comes to music and artistry. She doesn't have as much chance in America as everyone thinks she has.

What's the problem with amateur **** stars, sis? They're entertainers too.

Rihanna basically releases single collections, they are not brilliant pop albums to me, no offense I love Rihanna's music, but she basically records a disc where every song could hit the airwaves as single but GGGB, Loud and TTT are not really cohensive as a whole. I am not saying that Alexandra's album is brilliant but she atleast tried to make a cohensive dance album, something that none of the other pop girls even tried, since most artists and labels are busy with the overall succes and not really about the album itself, whether I talk about Rihanna, my own all time favourite Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland and even Beyoncé on I Am Sasha Fierce, it is all to get as much succesful singles out. HOH is cohensive and still has diversity to a degree.
I agree that Alexandra still has to find more of a own identity though

I always wondered how do backlash works in the UK. Someone starts n then the, whole nation follows. It must be an X factor curse tbh.
How they turned on Cheryl on the 2012 series.
How they still hate on Cher due to 'her behaviour' backstage.
Misha B went from favorite to the most hated in one night.
Alex backlash due to one night as a guest judge.
And is ONLY to gwerls smh.

Alex didnt get a public backlash, I dont know why people keep saying that. She got a lot of hate online after her judging slot but she has always got a lot of hate online - if the public hated her Elephant wouldnt have gotten to number 3 with no support. Shes never been an album seller, she doesnt have a large fanbase. If radio supported her, casual buyers would realize she had an album out. Her singles doing well was what kept Overcome in the charts, but it didnt sell a lot considering she had 3 x factor slots and she was the winner of XF. If she had released during October after an XF slot it would be doing better, although im glad she had the guts not to rely on the show.

Heartbreak on Hold Re-Do
SINGLES:
1st - FIRE
2nd - TONIGHT (f/ DJ Smash)
3rd - HEARTBREAK ON HOLD
If "Tonight" didn't leak early, I wonder if it would have been one of the first singles.

This could do well and it leans itself also well to get a remix of it with a male R&B singer as extra pushfactor

Anyway I agree with this, but she could try maybe she could get a moderate hit in US, I mean look at Jessie J, PT was a moderate hit there.

She was meant to in 2010. It pains me to say it, but she's gonna learn that her slowness has cost her. This album would've been fine for a sophomore. But as a debut? I knew this would happen in 2010, she just takes too long doing everything. I still love her though.
