Britney, the tabloid exclusively reveals, is planning a hot new album - due for completion early in 2007 - and a major comeback tour. Production whizzkid Pharrell Williams reckons her new tracks are "amazing". "I'm blown away by what she's done so far - this will be a massive album!" he says.

A Sony insider commented "There's no doubt Britney will hit Number One again next year."

LA Times: Six Ideas for Britney's comeback

Britney Spears hopes to stage a comeback in 2007. But some in the know have a few friendly tips, from "go away" to perhaps doing "some sort of talk show."

A swank nightclub in Las Vegas called Pure has just announced that Britney Spears will appear there Dec. 31 to party and count down the last seconds of 2006, a year that, for her, has been a roller-coaster ride. In recent weeks, that ride has looked like it's been headed toward rock-bottom — or is that rock-bottomless?

Spears has circled 2007 as her comeback year, but, two years removed from her last hit, "Toxic," it's not clear that the former pop queen will be warmly welcomed back to her throne. Or as Mitch Schneider, publicist for David Bowie and Aerosmith, put it: "I think that waking up on the morning of Jan. 1, 2007, as Britney Spears is not an easy thing to do."

Spears has given birth to two boys in the last 15 months. She has become a poster girl for ditzy parenting and just split from husband Kevin Federline. And, on three occasions in November, she sent newsflashes (literally) around the world with her new habit of going out on the town without underwear beneath her miniskirt.

The relentless tabloid behavior has many in the music industry predicting full career implosion, but others say this is all passing turbulence. "Britney is a huge star, shining," said Steve Davidovici, managing partner of Pure, who, by the way, denies reports that his venue paid six digits to have Spears count backward from 10. "Let's start the year on a good note."

In that spirit, here are some recommended New Year's resolutions for Spears from pop music mavens:

Resolution No. 1: "I will go into hiding."

This one came from Geoff Mayfield. The director of Billboard Magazine's charts was in Vegas this week for the Billboard Awards, where Spears was a hot topic — but only for tabloid-type reasons. "I think she simply has to go away for a while. She needs to let people forget her awhile. Getting away will accomplish a couple of things — she can take care of herself and work on being a good parent and a healthy human being. But also it will give people a break from this barrage of all-things-Britney, a lot of which has been negative."

How much attention does Spears get? Yahoo announced Tuesday that she was the most popular search term for the year to date.

Resolution No. 2: "I will become the next Mariah Carey, not the new Michael Jackson."

There's plenty of ways to approach a comeback, but not all of them are wise. "I think there will be ridiculous expectations on that first single no matter what she does," said Jay Frank, chief of programming for Yahoo Music. "So I think she just needs to get that single out and move on with life…. That would be better than trying to come back with some grandiose, full-blown album."

Frank said the model should be Carey, who was written off and responded like the Rocky Balboa of divas. "She walked away, stayed low-profile and just worked really hard." Carey also embraced a leaner, contemporary hip-hop sound. The result: Grammy nominations and the second-best selling CD of 2005.

What's the worst approach? Frank said Jackson's pattern of inflated and unfocused projects and haughty resistance to starting from scratch. "That," Frank said, "could be a disaster for Britney."

Rick Dees, the venerable morning DJ now on Movin' 93-FM, said the audience's fascination with Spears was still potent but that it could easily flip into disdain. "She needs to be careful. I'd hate to think she's getting desperate. You wonder who's giving her advice."

Resolution No. 3: "I will avoid Central Park."

Schneider, the publicist who also worked closely with Ozzy Osbourne, said there was now a standard list of tactics for comeback campaigns.

"She could do the free concert in Central Park, but that could be instant career death for Britney if it goes badly. She hasn't had a tour in years, so she's not on her game. The same goes for a network concert special. She could do an ' MTV Unplugged,' but that would just underline her vocal deficiencies. She could do a club tour, but you can take the girl out of the arena, but it's hard to take the arena out of the girl."

Schneider said the real dilemma was that the music scene had changed so fundamentally. Spears was good primarily at selling CDs, but now CDs don't sell like they used to, no matter who's on the cover.

"There will be people in a boardroom trying to figure this out for her. The only thing I can come up with for her that makes sense is American Idol. She needs to be a judge on 'American Idol.' It's all moving toward her becoming Paula Abdul."

Resolution No. 4: "I will remember that (when I choose to wear them) I put my pants on one leg at a time just like everybody else."

Speaking of Dec. 31 countdowns, Dick Clark pretty much invented the shtick. Clark has seen pop stars come and go for a half century or so. He said the key to survival is in keeping your heels connected to the planet.

"My advice for any star is: 'Don't be impressed with yourself. Don't think it's going to last more than 20 minutes. Keep your feet on the ground, for God's sake.' They begin to believe their own publicity. They think it's going to go on forever. It won't. That only happens with a handful of people."

Resolution No. 5: "I will go back to being fake."

A lot of Spears' fans think she should just stay true to herself. Don't believe them for one second, said Perez Hilton, the self-proclaimed "gossip gangsta."

Hilton was "a huge Britney fan" back when Spears was the aloof sex bomb hiding behind glossy production. But then she cut loose her circle of advisors and abandoned the facade.

"Now we see the real Britney: Marrying a loser, having two babies …, running around barefoot, loving the Cheetos too much, chewing gum all the time, not wearing underwear …. She's obviously not listening to anybody but herself. This is the real Britney." So if Spears can armor up again, everything can be magic, right? "No, no, it won't. It's too late. She's toast."

Resolution No. 6: "I will learn to make people laugh but in, like, a not-mean way."

Spears got famous in music videos, but Mayfield said his defining memory of her was on "SNL," not MTV. "She was on 'Saturday Night Live' a few years ago, and I just remember her being so funny and ready to be self-deprecating. She was great. Maybe there's something there. She could do some sort of talk show or character role.

BRITNEY PROMISES "A NEW ME"

Following numerous embarrassing pictures of a knicker-less Britney Spears out of the town celebrating her 25th birthday, the singer has promised to cover up and tone things down in the new year.

After her decision to divorce second husband Kevin Federline, Brit has been seen revelling in her new-found freedom along with serial party girl Paris Hilton.

Outfits chosen for her clubbing onslaught included extremely revealing dresses, no underwear and even stockings shared with Paris.

But after seeing pictures of her splashed across the world, Britney has promised fans that there will be "a new me" in 2007.

In a message posted on her website, the singer wrote: "It's been so long since I've been out on the town with friends. It's also been two years since I've even celebrated my birthday.

"Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my new found freedom a little too far."

Commenting on the infamous crotch-flashing photos, she joked: "Thank God for Victoria's Secrets' new underwear line!"

And for her fans who have no doubt been longing for her to make headlines for her music rather than her partying antics, she added that there will be "new music" coming soon.

Speaks! Popstar Herself Weighs In On Pantygate

LOS ANGELES (December 7, 2006)--Britney Spears has addressed world concern over her panty-free outings over the last two weeks.

In a blog posted on the singer's official website – www.britneyspears.com, the pop star admits she really indulged in her post-K-Fed, single life.

"Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my new found freedom a little too far," she wrote in a note to her fans. "Anyway, thank God for Victoria's Secrets' [sic] new underwear line! "
Spears caused a slew of controversy recently by partying with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan sans panties. Captured on at least three occasions, the singer's knicker-free outings even caught the attention of Rosie O'Donnell and esteemed journalist Barbara Walters.

In fact, it was Rosie, who pleaded with the national lingerie chain Victoria's Secret originally, for help in solving Britney's underwear-free woes. "I want to beg Victoria's Secret to supply these women [Britney, Lindsay, Paris] with an unlimited amount of underwear. I'm begging you Victoria," she said on ‘The View.'

On Today's episode of the show, Rosie triumphed Britney's web post as well as her recent decision to cover her bits. "Britney Spears has decided to wear underwear," Rosie stated. Co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck then chimed in on the issue but Rosie quickly shut her down saying "I love Britney like you love George Bush. You leave her alone. She didn't invade a nation. She just went pantyless."

Rosie added she mailed Britney the Victoria's Secret underwear she bought for her last week. "I sent her [them] with a little note of encouragement," she said. "I love her."

Britney, who continues to be spotted partying in Los Angeles wrote that these social activities are things she hasn't engaged in for a while. "It's been so long since I've been out on the town with friends. It's also been 2 years since I've even celebrated my birthday," she wrote.

The singer did add that she is working on her comeback. "I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me," she posted. "I'm just getting started... "

Talks Panties And Partying

Britney Spears is thankful for Victoria's Secret and perhaps enjoying her "newfound freedom" a little too much, she says in a new posting on her Web site.

The pop star, who's received some heat for her nights out with Paris Hilton and her penchant for not wearing underwear, posted a holiday message to her fans and talked a bit about the panty situation.

"It's been so long since I've been out on the town with friends. It's also been two years since I've even celebrated my birthday," said Spears, who celebrated her 25th birthday recently with Hilton at L.A.'s Hyde club.

"Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my newfound freedom a little too far," she admits.

"Anyway, thank God for Victoria's Secrets' new underwear line! I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me!" she wrote.

"I'm just getting started," she said. "Happy Holidays everyone!"

The New York Post reported yesterday that the Los Angeles Department of Children & Family Services has been trying to set up a meeting with Spears.

"The department has been calling Britney trying to set up a meeting with her, so they can check on (Spears' sons with Kevin Federline, Sean Preston and Jaden James). The calls started after this recent bout of bizarre public behavior," a source told the newspaper.

The Post reports that Spears' family is also worried about her new party lifestyle — and antics with the paparazzi (i.e. being caught in photos minus underwear).

Meanwhile, Spears' ex, Kevin Federline, is busy retooling his image into that of a serious, respectable adult.

A spokesman for Federline's divorce attorney released a statement Wednesday detailing an evening out with the aspiring rapper.

According to the statement, Federline dined out with lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan at a Beverly Hills steakhouse Tuesday — and then had a pleasant chat with the press.

Federline told E! News that he wants the public to know that he is a family man, adding "that is me, that is the truth, that is — in all honesty — that is what it is."

He also said that he sees himself a year from now "making movies" — presumably legitimate feature films — and that he's very happy and moving forward in his career.

to listen Britney again

Paris' message about Britney
Paris' blog: I told Brit I'd write a bulletin on here to try to clear some news to atleast the people who are on my list...

Lately, you've been seeing pics of me and Britney partying (blah blah) and she knows that some of her fans are very upset about what they call her "behavior" and sadly they're blaming the issue on her being friends with me. Yeah, me and Brit have become really close in the past few weeks, and we've gone out alot in the past few nights, but I never influence anything she does, and neither does anyone else.

Brit is her own person and she deals with her own things everyday. For people to call out her parenting skills on behalf of her partying ethics is appalling. Britney loves her kids to death, and I know for a fact that it truly hurts her when she sees these cruel things being written about her.

She goes home every night to her babies and partying has not come in the way of her parenting.

Anyone who has called her out on this should really be ashamed. There are thousands of mothers out there who like to go out and have a good time. But, you do not see people out there calling them "bad parents" She's young, and if she wants to go out and have some fun, let her. Just because she does these things does not mean she doesn't care about her children. For the sake of Britney and her kids, be kind

Britney's New Album To Be Released On June 15th, 2007?

According to mtv.it, Britney will be releasing her new album entitled 'Fears Within' on June 15th, 2007. This information that has just came out in the last two days is obviously very new and so I would say it is still tentative.
