I just knew it would be an Earth-2 character.

I was really hoping they'd make it an Earth-0 (main reality) character and not take the easy way out and make a character gay in an ~*~alternate reality~*~.

But I guess anything is better than nothing.

And everything looks like the start of a cheap ass gay movie.

This mess happens every time when comics try to be LGBT friendly. 300 pound manchildren only wanting to read about sexy lesbians (or bisexuals), once you throw in a gay male it suddenly gets awkward for them.

EDIT: Why are all the sensible ones the most negatively rated ones? Daily Mail attracts such a hateful crowd.

It's not Earth 2, it's New 52.

They rebooted all existing comic lines and reset the stories. All series went back to Issue 1. All characters have new backstories and new lives.

When The Green Lantern returns in the new series, he is gay. This is the Green Lantern now in the currently-produced DC comics. It's not alternate-universe, it's new continuity.
