The top-dogs bowed out from Capital Hoedown.
Ronnie Dunn is the first to cancel. Reba, Band Perry, Terri Clark don't list it on their site. Brad Paisley removed the date. Our Queen still listed it. She might will remove it too, but before that cancellation, we can say: Flawless Kween.

Capital Hoedown founder insists show will go on
Capital Hoedown founder Denis Benoit is adamant the country music festival will go on despite the fact it hasn’t paid the City of Ottawa for the use of Walter Baker Park, site of this summer’s festival.
Dan Chenier, the city’s manager of parks, recreation and cultural services, confirmed the $150,000 that was due last week from Capital Hoedown has not been received. It’s unclear if the city will pull the plug on the festival’s permit for the use of the park, but the festival has been beset by several problems. The event lost “millions of dollars” in 2010 when it was held at LeBreton Flats and in just this past week some big name acts have dropped out.
Country singer Ronnie Dunn is not in the festival lineup anymore and other artists such as Reba McEntire, The Band Perry and Terri Clark also do not list Capital Hoedown on their official tour websites.
Now with only two months before the start, Benoit is scrambling to keep the troubled festival afloat.
“I can say with absolute certainty that the festival is not being cancelled. We’re releasing a statement on Friday morning. Capital Hoedown will continue, but there will be some changes,” Benoit said.
He declined to elaborate on what changes the festival will undergo or why the city has not been given the final payment for the use of the park.
Meanwhile, an industry source told the Citizen on Wednesday that Benoit is at the end of his rope and the festival is unlikely to go on because of Benoit’s financial difficulties.
“He’s going to pull the plug on the festival,” said the source, adding that Benoit came to see him Wednesday morning. “He said he’s at the end of the line and he can’t deal with it anymore.”
He said Benoit offered him a show with country superstar Taylor Swift, suggesting that he might want to stage her performance himself. The source declined to take it on.
“He’s paid her everything except the withholding tax, which is about $2.1 million,” said the source. He said if the show doesn’t happen then Swift gets to keep the money.
But what is more troubling is that thousands of country music fans who bought tickets may have trouble getting refunds if the festival is cancelled. Capital Hoedown used Front Gate Tickets, a U.S.-based ticket agency. On its website, it states “all ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges for tickets purchased through this website will be made. Each promoter may have additional policies regarding refunds or exchanges.”
Country fan Ken Fisher, who purchased a three-day V.I.P. Front and Centre passport to the festival last November, said he paid $479, including taxes and services. When the festival discounted the same three-day passport months later he inquired about getting a refund from Front Gate Tickets who referred him to Capital Hoedown. He is still waiting for a refund from the festival organizers.
The festival is slated for Aug. 10-12 at Walter Baker Park in Kanada.
It’s estimated that 15,000 people have already bought tickets, but it’s unclear how many bought three-day passes or how many bought the one-day tickets.
“Everyone is assuming they are going to get their money back (if the festival cancels) if you paid by Visa or MasterCard, but I’m not so sure that’s going to happen. It’s an awful situation,” said the source.
Benoit was very defensive in an interview with the Citizen, declining to speak specifically about his money problems or the fact that a few country artists have dropped out of the lineup. He said he runs a “private corporation” and he’s not obligated to disclose any of his financial information.
“There’s a lot of things being worked on right now. We’re restructuring the festival, but it will not be cancelled,” Benoit said.
Country singer Ronnie Dunn was the first artist to drop out of Capital Hoedown.
“That show is no longer happening for Ronnie, I don’t why,” said Katie Weaver, a spokeswoman at Vector Management in Nashville. She said any ticket refunds should be done through the point of purchase and the promoter.
Another big headliner at Capital Hoedown, Brad Paisley, has also removed the Ottawa date from his official website. A spokesman for his booking agency, William Morris, would not confirm if Paisley is still coming to Ottawa, adding that an announcement may be made later this week.

@ me deleting the "Get dat money, Kween. " from the last part because of too much editing.
And IF this one got cancelled, does it mean she would do festivals in EU/Asia/AUS? Doors are still opened wide enough for the Europe ones, just not the UK. And I know she once headlined Summer Sonic. Hopefully she managed to make one or two this year. AUS/NZ, well no Splendour.

So yesterday I looked up the announcement stream for SN and that dated all the way back to the end of July 2010. It looks like we still have two more months to go.

So, now I'm thinking that we could get bunch of "Dear John". More Blues-y than ever. Excited.
**** I can't hold my excitement. I just hope it won't be a disaster like Mine & SN.

I was hoping her attempts at faux-punk/rock would cease but apparently not

Well, looking at Butch's producing track record, that I hope it would be the one with Ed Sheeran. And hopefully it will be dud of this album or the bonus track.
And if judging from that 'disappointed' face after studio session with Ed at Santa Monica (Butch's studio is there fyi), fingers crossed it won't make the cut.

How many copies do y'all think Taylor's next album will sell first week?

Somewhere between 500-750k is probably a good starting point.
