:: carson extended the voting for the #1 and #2 video between outkast and
the backstreet boys because the votes were so close. so, trl asked people on the
phones, the audience, and the fans outside to give in their last minute votes. in
the end, the backstreet boys were defeated after being at #1 for 17 days straight with 231
votes and outkast with 287 votes being the third hip-hop artist ever to be #1.
:: the outkast video has surfed the countdown from being from #10 to #1 in 7
days!
:: nelly visits and talks about how hip hop is making its return on the
countdown and his latest video "ride wit me" which was at #4 today. he
also talks about him being named for one of the 25 hottest under 25 by teen people.
mtv will be having a show on it airing april 9th, 2001 at 10pm. nelly will be
performing on the show. he also goes outside to hang with his fans. also, he
talks about his group the "lunatics".
