Taylor Swift's smash hit "Sparks Fly" was not serviced to Top 40 radio, despite being the first single from "Speak Now" to have peaked at No. 1 on Country Radio (both Billboard and Mediabase) and even garnering unsolicited AC/HAC airplay, because it was deemed too sexual for her image during "Speak Now" era. And to add, very "controversial" since she wrote the song on her own when she was just 16 y.o.
We all know, Taylor writes from her 'personal experiences'. And with "RED", it seems like she has been more subtle with the topic. However, the fans and critics alike has still managed to see the hints of her "romantic stunts" with Jake Gyllenhaal, from songs "State of Grace", "All Too Well" and "Treacherous" to name a few.
Now let's decipher the country song, "Red".
Quote:
Loving him is like driving a new maseratti down the dead end street, faster than the wind passionate as sin ending so suddenly
|
Love is interchangeable with "romance" or "sex"
is like driving = ride = ride him = "sex"
"down the dead end" - Jake D's must be

Faster than the wind = intense and loss of breathe
Passionate as sin = premarital sex
Ending so suddenly = Shade to Jake
The color "Red" represents many things:
Blood - Virginity - First time
Jake is white, his Dhead is re-e-e-e-ed.
Taylor is white, her V is re-e-e-e-ed
