Carrie you're not good enough, you're not good enough....
Carrie brings the country to this song, Kelly brings the soul and everything else to this song
Kelly makes you actually FEEL the song and really owns it
Carrie is definitely a good singer but she just doesn't sing with the emotion Kelly does in my opinion. Like, when Kelly belts, it's to express heightened emotion. Half the time when Carrie does it, it just sounds like she is getting louder. Of course... maybe it's just because of my Kelly stan ears...
Oh and I don't care what anyone says... you can't deny that Kelly's head voice ***** on Carrie's.

Her falsetto too, ,IMO. How effortlessly she shifts between the two is just
I prefer Carrie's. I can't believe most of you have said Kelly's has more emotion. Carrie sings with emotions too. Plus I prefer Carrie's big voice over Kelly's husky one.
Carrie's performance showcases big notes and vocals but she doesn't really interpret the song very well. It's basically a vocal marathon to show you the notes she can hit and how long she can hold them.
Kelly's a masterful interpreter of lyrics and really knows how to let the lyrics shine while still delivering a master class vocal. That's what make her a better vocalist than Carrie. Well I guess having a wider range and stronger chest & head voice helps...
