Camila explains 5H exit; "I was forced to sexualise myself"
'Sex sells':
Camila Cabello says she uncomfortable with Fifth Harmony being sexualized as she pursues solo career
Quote:
Her departure from Fifth Harmony was announced just last month.
And on Saturday Camila Cabello spoke about being uncomfortable with those who tried to sexualize the all-girl group, which now includes the four remaining members, Ally Brooke, 23, Normani Kordei, 20, Dinah Hansen, 19, and Lauren Jauregui, 20.
'Especially with being a girl group, there’s been a lot of times where people have tried to sexualize us to just get more attention,' the 19-year-old singer explained during a podcas.
'Unfortunately, sex sells,' the Cuban-born beauty continued. 'There’s definitely been times where there’s stuff that I have not been comfortable with and I’ve had to put my foot down.
Camila looked really uncomfortable in the Worth It video and I was too. It was clear she didn't want to go that direction and they pushed it further with WFH It's sad but true, sex sells, especially for a girl group. She has better chance succeeding clean through solo (which she already has, slay Bad Things)
And then she collabs with a sexist racist man in a song that goes like:
Quote:
Am I out of my head?
Am I out of my mind?
If you only knew the bad things I like
Don't think that I can explain it
What can I say, it's complicated
Don't matter what you say
Don't matter what you do
I only wanna do bad things to you
So good, that you can't explain it
What can I say, it's complicated
Nothing's that bad
If it feels good
So you come back
Like I knew you would
And we're both wild
And the night's young
And you're my drug
Breathe you in 'til my face numb
Drop it down to that bass drum
I got what you dream about
Nails scratchin' my back tatt
Eyes closed while you scream out
And you keep me in with those hips
While my teeth sink in those lips
While your body's giving me life
And you suffocate in my kiss
Then you said

Maybe she is fine with lyrical sexualisation, but not physical things like clothing / dance moves
Camila's Bad Things lyrics are hardly explicit - especially for 2017 standards.
