NG! Your list is always great, and brings together ATRL more than apple pie. I don't think that statement made any sense, but the point is you have a very wide range of genres that can appeal to anyone reading. I greatly look forward to reading it.
30. Katy Perry - California Gurls (Feat. Snoop Dogg)
From the Album : Teenage Dream 2009:Peter Bjorn and John - Nothing to Worry About 2008:Pink - So What 2007:Björk - Earth Intruders 2006:Evanescence - Call Me When You're Sober
One of the biggest anthems of 2010. You can't deny the power of Katy Perry because she's doing it way big this year. California Gurls didn't really work for me the first time I've heard it. However, after hearing it more and more, it just got stuck in my head. The three Fs: fine, fresh, fierce definitely define this track. With over twenty remixes of the song including my favorites (Passion Pit and MSTRKRFT), California Gurls will always be remembered among the summer songs of 2010.
29. Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work
From the Album : Tourist History 2009:Beyoncé - Diva 2008:Duffy - Stepping Stone 2007:Rufus Wainwright - Rules and Regulations 2006:P$C Feat. T.I. & Lil' Scrappy - I'm A King
This comes to me as a surprise. Because their debut, Tourist History is such a great album, I had a hard time picking out which song I would want to include in my best 30 songs. I go ahead and chose Something Good Can Work because it's the first song I've heard from them. The track is filled with catchy fusion of noticeable indie vocals. It sets the mood right; you can have a bad day and the moment this song comes on, it'll brighten your day. The song is a refreshing take on indie pop that I highly recommend if you haven't heard. Get on it, now!
28. Willow Smith - Whip My Hair
From the Album : Willow 2009:Bat for Lashes - Daniel 2008:Sam Sparro - Black and Gold 2007:Jupiter Rising - Electropop 2006:Panic at the Disco - I Write Sins, Not Tragedies
I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH.
If Lil Wayne's A Milli and Beyonce's Diva have a baby, Whip My Hair will be the perfect lovechild. This girl may be Will Smith's baby, but she is only 9 years old and already whipping other artists' career with one track. Fine, I have to admit that the song serves nothing to the meaning of life. But, what do you expect from a 9-year-old? Shoot, I'm sure it got a 40-year-old mother whipping her hair. I'm actually excited to see what she has up her sleeves because unlike most singers, she can sing live. Go Willow!
