Not sure why y'all see humour in this...
There's nothing shameful or funny about seeking help for mental health issues, and all y'all rushing in here to laugh only make the stigma that much worse.

Well said.

This act is highly offensive towards her community of somewhat naïve followers.
Like, is she really implying that her supporters are psychologically unstable? That could be the case for some fans, but like the Little Monsters say - it's very unfair to "generalise" a whole fan base based on the behaviour of a select few, yet that is exactly what Gaga seems to be doing. I totally endorse her trying to ensure their happiness and wellbeing, but this is a step too far. It's disgusting and contrived. Aren't her shows intended to be a place where people are to forget their insecurities? It sounds highly contradictory of what the concert stands for. I know this, because I've seen her live. That is my opinion.

Something about this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I think it's the fact that none of GaGa's causes ever seem to come about in a natural way, rather she jumps on the hot issue of the moment in an attempt to elevate her status so she's known as the artist who "did the most" or "changed the world."
Bullying and teen suicide on the rise? Born This Way Foundation is the answer.
Christina is lambasted for months and months in the media for gaining weight and shows confidence about her size? GaGa has to immediately cash in with Body Revolution.
Connecticut shootings? GaGa's there with the psychologists.

You really did try, didn't you.
If her fanbase don't need it, they don't have to go. If they do need it and due to stigma around it are unable to get it in their normal day to day life, they can go to this. It isn't necessary or compulsory but simply her reaching out to those who need it.
Sure, she needs to spend the money she makes from platinum singles, albums and tours on something unlike others who barely get any of those, especially the album and tours.

A) She was getting fat herself so to combat the vicious media play towards her, she made a point that she was fine with her body. No big deal.
B) That's completely unrelated.

I came in here thinking it was some religious group offering help, but then that...
That's a nice thought. It just seems awkward to suggest mental therapy to your fans.

I'm aware that GaGa gained weight. However, Body Revolution felt so disingenuous, because Christina was actually the one who got the brunt of the attacks from the media, for a much, much longer period of time, and Christina was always the one to let the comments roll off her back and explain that she was confident with her body. But then GaGa saw her opportunity to make it a competition (yet again) with another cause so she would appear revolutionary in the public eye. That's what makes GaGa's causes feel so insincere. She's always trying to top other artists, especially Christina.

it's almost like the church of scientology isn't it..
can you imagine U2, springsteen, Madonna, Prince or patti smith hiring a bus to offer free psychiatrists to help their fanbases out?
I like the idea of people coming together and talking about their problems as a way of group therapy, but this is like a huge insult towards her fanbase. psychiatrists are really serious, by the way. it's not like going to see a therapist once in a while..

Please point out where she said all of her fans need help, where she is generalizing all of the monsters, where she even mentioned monsters at all. This isn't just for fans, it's for anyone who comes to the show and may need help.
Depression and anxiety are not insecurities and you cannot "forget about them", they are serious mental issues that need care and treatment in order to get better.
Despite there only being a few tweets, she explains this perfectly. For those who are afraid to reach out to friends or family, there is this, because believe it or not, it's often times easier to reach out to a stranger than it is to reach out to people you know.
I can't even begin to fathom your thought process and the thought processes of everyone else trying to desperately hard to condemn this. When a school offers guidance to kids in need, they are not saying every child is in need, they are saying those who do need help, can get it. What this will most likely do is have professionals who will hand out pamphlets and give information on how to deal with your issues and how to get help. If that is bad in any way, shape, or form to you, then I suggest you make a visit to this bus because you are suffering from a mental illness. This coincides with the message Gaga has been preaching since 2008: be yourself and be happy with who you are. It's just that some people suffer from depression and it takes medication in order to be happy.
STOP TRYING.

Nothing new, we already knew that since she launched the BTW foundation in Harvard. She said that in the press conference.

"Now more than ever, our kids need access to support within their communities, including mental health services. By connecting youth to these local resources, we hope to plant the seeds that will help them deal with today’s challenges and inspire them to continue exercising their strength and bravery well after the Born Brave Bus leaves town."
reading it.. it's almost as if they want to attract more fans. the weak and insecure.. if you're not a gaga fan, you can't get it for free and you're screwed.
i wonder: why would she want the sad/mentally ill/insecure/unstable people as her fanbase? easier to sell to?
this is all so ****ed up..

at you comparing her to legends like U2, Madonna, and Springsteen. Here's the deal, though, Gaga's fan base is from an entirely different generation, a generation plagued by skyrocketing suicide, depression, and anxiety rates. Most of the people you mentioned have fan bases that consist of adults, and while mental illness is indeed prevalent in that demographic, it's easy for a thirty five year old to get help, not so much for a scared fourteen year old.
Of course you don't care about that and it's rich that you suddenly care so much about Gaga insulting her fan base when you insult monsters on a daily basis on your Gaga hate Twitter, YouTube, and blog.

Where did she say you have to be a fan? I've honestly never pitied someone as much as I pity you. Please seek help. You feed on hatred, you get off on hatred. I am legitimately scared for you.

"Tonight, I want you to forget about all of your securities. I want you to reject anyone or anything that have made you feel like you don’t belong, or don’t fit in. Or made you feel like you’re not good enough, or pretty enough, or thin enough, or can’t sing well enough, or dance well enough. You just remember that you’re a god damn superstar, and you were born this way!"
- Lady Gaga
And there you have it. The WORDS of the legend herself. Her show is intended to be an escape from any kind of issue or prejudice her fans may experience in their daily lives. As I said, I support her will to ensure the wellbeing of her supporters and I think her foundation is great - but her live show is supposed to be a good time. It's a place to forget about all the negativities just for one night and let it all go. You do have a point, that it's a choice. BUT, the whole idea does not seem genuine to me. It doesn't look good on her, and it's making people question her motives. Helping people is a great thing, but when it becomes over-the-top, that's when it irks me. And why is it fair that only the North American venues have access to this treatment also? I mean, all her fans deserve equal access to such services. It shouldn't be exclusive.

Nope, no where does it say you have to buy merch, it's just common sense that if you're at the venue then odds are you have a ticket to the show. keep your asinine conclusions coming, it's what you're best at.
