RED Beats Born This Way & OIDIA in Annual Share Sales
Most dominant first week in terms of annual share of all time
When Red debuted some stans were arguing that Taylor technically broke Britney's record since her numbers are far more impressive because album sales are down 40,6% compared to 2000. But Billboard found a more accurate way of measuring their impact by calculating their share of the total annual album sales.

One way to compare relative strength of albums' first-week sales in different eras is to compare their shares of annual album sales. When measured this way, the first-week sales of "Red" could have the most dominant market share of all time.

* Estimated - 2012 numbers are incomplete.
Just say 12.5 million more albums were sold by the end of the year (I'm not saying that'll happen). Wouldn't that mean that Red would move down behind Gaga?
