Are Katy Perry and Rihanna the only ones from the pop girls that continue to slay? They are called "singles artists" but their album sales are almost better than everyone else. They are untouchable in singles sales too.


Beyonce- Since BEYONCE started tanking in the last couple of weeks (only 27k WW last week ) it's been obvious the whole era has been very frontloaded and is now failing rapidly. None of the singles made significant impact either (DrIL was the only (moderately) successful, and yet it still only sold 2m WW)

Lady Gaga- Ever since Applause, the era has been going downhill and things just got worse and worse.

Britney Spears- I am not familiar with her numbers, but her latest album/singles have been doing incredibly bad.



Then we have Kesha, Avril, Shakira etc...
What is happening to pop girls?

I wouldn't call BEYONCE frontloaded, but all she has is album sales, so when you look at Katy who's got album sales in the same general range AND huge single sales, it does knock her out a bit. I don't know Rihanna's statistics, but they both are major forces.

Rih's last era had a few flops (promoted or not, whatever) and the album's #s are nothing impressive. Let's wait for R8

The Beyonce era is still not finished regardless of the current sales. The same can't be said for the other two.

As for Rihanna she hasn't had a solo hit since "Stay" after that she had two back to back flops it wasn't until she ran her ass to Eminem for a hit that she got one.

As for Katy lets hope those cakes work.

Katy Perry is defiantly leading the pact now. Her and Miley ruled 2013. It's too soon to discuss who is gonna slay 2014. I'd wait until Rihanna released R8 before judging her relevance in music. Britney obviously flopped this era. Gaga under performed. Beyonce was a moderate success. The test will tell..

Considering PRISM did 17k this week and is holding up great WW each week, I'd say we can.

Beyoncé is still standing with her $230M grossing tour, critically acclaimed album - things that these girls struggle to achieve.This era is far from over seeing as she has only released one WW single. Pretty Hurts is coming to snatch wigs.

If we look at Gaga's last 8 singles she only has 2 hits, and maybe one moderate hit.
