Billboard Hot 100 Singles (June 6-13, 2012)
Over on the Digital Songs chart, Carly Rae Jepsen**'s "Call Me Maybe" is steady at No. 1 again with 284,000 (down 6%) while Maroon 5**'s "Payphone" (featuring Wiz Khalifa**) rises a notch to No. 2 with 257,000 (down 3%). Gotye**'s "Somebody That I Used to Know" is also up one to No. 3, selling 247,000 (down 6%).
The chart's highest debut is at No. 4, where Justin Bieber**'s "Die In Your Arms" bows with 185,000. It's the singer's 11th song to start in the top 10.
Pitbull**'s "Back In Time" climbs 7-5 (147,000; down less than 1%), Rihanna**'s "Where Have You Been" rises 8-6 (144,000; down 1%) and Bieber's "Boyfriend" jumps 9-7 (138,000; down 4%).
fun.**'s "We Are Young" (featuring Janelle Monae**) falls 6-8 (137,000; down 8%), Nicki Minaj's "Starships" tumbles 5-9 (135,000; down 12%) and One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" returns to the top 10, up two slots, to No. 10 (129,000; down less than 1%).
Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending June 3) totaled 5.02 million units, down 5% compared to the sum last week (5.29 million) and down 9% compared to the comparable sales week of 2011 (5.52 million). Year to date album sales stand at 127.70 million, down 3% compared to the same total at this point last year (131.39 million).
Digital track sales this past week totaled 25.58 million downloads, down 2% compared to last week (25.98 million) and up 6% stacked next to the comparable week of 2011 (24.24 million). Year to date track sales are at 596.86 million, up 7% compared to the same total at this point last year (560.38 million).
Next week's Billboard 200 competes with the same week in 2011 when: Adele's "21" returned to No. 1 for a tenth nonconsecutive week (114,000; down 5%). The highest debut was Tech N9ne's "All 6's & 7's" at No. 4 with 56,000.
