It was my best friend's birthday, I flew up to QLD from Melbourne to see him, we went out, took some drugs, and within 10 minutes he started hooking up with someone and left to go home with him.
I was stuck, lost in Fluffy (Brisbane club) and didn't have any idea of the address to go home to.
I stuck it out and made friend, but the paranoia was pretty bad.
got felt up from behind three times
had a drink threw at my back for no reason
saw someone sucking dick at the urinal while a drag queen acted as bathroom attendant
It was pretty low key - I can't remember who I went with, but I was definitely exciting and nervous. Think I hooked up with some random older guy. I definitely looked and was a mess, but I'm sure I loved it.
A bunch of chavs using it because the drinks were cheap (and nasty, you couldn't even taste the vodka)
Someone feeling up my boyfriend whilst I was stood next to him
My boyfriend being warned to be on his best behavior by the doormen assuming he was straight
And unlimited amount of bitchy comments
"Stop touching me!"
"Hey there"
"Oh well thank you"
"I need some air"
"Aw, thanks, bye"
"I haven't got a phone, sorry"
"I love Lea Michele, do you?"
"Lea is love, Lea is life"
"One at a time guys"
"I can feel someones breath on my neck"
"Dad what are you doing here?"
So it was during college and it was underwear night and we drove from our college town into the city to attend. Since it was underwear night, I chose a great pair. Once we got there though I found out my other friends had like 2-3 pairs of underwear on and here I am with my one silky pair... I still went in, I have the body for it though I wish I would have had more to drink before hand. Got groped a lot.
It was a very "liberating" experience for me, I had probably never felt so free and comfortable in my skin before. It was the first time I had ever met gay guys in person, and they were all so nice to me and my friend.
I don't know if I was just overwhelmed that night and didn't notice, but at almost every party since then I'm getting more judgmental vibes, and the majority seem to be shallow queens.
