Six is the ideal number, if the album is full of single material. If not, then four. Anything more than six or less than four is really pushing it. I guess it just depends on the album, any re-releases, etc.

4-6. Ke$ha's 'Animal' is a good album and 4 singles was a PERFECT number. Some album are just as good and deserve 5 or 6.
