I think bullying is worst today, since now there is cyber bullying. I for one haven't experience neither though so I wouldn't know for sure. What do you think?
We're too sensitive in that we toss the label "bullying" around way too frequently. Not every incident of someone making fun of another is bullying, and celebrities cannot by definition be bullied, as bullying can only be done by someone with power/influence over another.
Both. Sometimes people are just too sensitive for their own humor but their are also times that bullies will literally kill you (physically and mentally)

Bullying was worse way back when because social policies to protect minorities had not been put in place yet and negative attitudes about them ran rampant. Also in 80s/early 90s movies a lot of the time the bully was portrayed as the "stud jock" and "picking on the nerd" was a cool thing to do.
I think bullying was worse years ago, because now everyone is just too busy in the social networks. And so cyberbullying is way more prominent, but it is a tiny bit better, because if you don't want to hear it (and i'm sure nobady wants to), you can log out/delete the messages.
But the nowadays bullying gets more media coverage, and that's why it looks worse. Before, somebody bullyed you, and that wasn't a big deal. Now bullying is cool and if, for example, Adam bullies Peter, that means that Adam is cool and Peter is a nerd. Pretty f-d up if you ask me.
Everything is blown out of proportion. Especially when it goes to cyberbullying which doesn't even exist. You control whether you can get bullied or not. You are not stuck at school with some guy waiting to punch you between classes. Just report, block, or log off your god dam computer and get exercise. Stop talking about bullying and giving these attention seeking kids some ammo to pretend to be suicidal cuz of a few bad words so they can get attention. Stop giving Demi Lovato an incentive to keep her twitter account active. Just stop.
People are becoming so over-sensitive it makes me cringe. Yes, bullying exists, but it is nowhere near as bad (on the whole) as it used to be, because it's so much easier to get caught nowadays, and it's taken more seriously. I think society is sheltering children too much now, so they get offended and upset over the smallest damn things and pull out the bullying card.
It's nice to know some live in a fantasy world where you can just control bullying and you wont get in trouble for it.

Though he did leave me alone afterwards.

This. "too seriously" would imply that we are taking it more seriously than is needed. Our eyes have opened to the fact that many young people are absolutely miserable and are driven to such extreme measures as suicide, and we are making a more conscious effort to discourage this

Tell me about it. I always used to get snatched by teachers for defending myself and the offender was nowhere to be seen.
