I don't think this is a waste and I fully support trans peoples. However, people are right when they say this is a voluntary operation and many trans people live happily without surgery even though they can afford it. So I'm conflicted too, even though my moral compass tells me this is right.

I hope we do more about preventing homelessness for LGBT teens.

Pull your mouth out the gutter. It's an elective surgery which treats gender dysphoria. Have regard to the ECHR and you will soon realise gender reassignment, if not protected sufficiently, is an infringement of Article 8 European Convention on Human Rights.

Regardless, the YK has an NHS system which is arguable the strongest Public Health Service in the world and our economy remains strong despite spending tax payers money on peoples well being unlike America

I just feel like a lot of conservatives say that marriage should be a right reserved for a man and a woman. So in theory a man becoming a woman to correct that issue would remedy everyones issues; but they still seem to be pressed . Im sure that if medicaid covered some therapy that they believed could fix sexual orientation they would be in support of it because they would benefit.

While I'm not sure I'm onboard entirely with the idea of reassignment surgery, your argument isn't really sufficient at pointing out why it shouldn't be covered by medicaid. Glasses and corrective lenswear, dental services and non-emergency transportation are covered by medicaid, none of which involve a life or death situation (typically)
