Nicki Minaj knows how to get her opinions across, that's for sure! Judging from what she said, or rather, didn't say about Lady Gaga during a recent interview with Matt Lauer, it is safe to say that the rapper has no desire to credit Mother Monster as someone she admires.
Matt Lauer said that both Madonna and Lady Gaga, whom Nicki Minaj has previously declared to be her inspirations, like to reinvent themselves and questioned whether that was what she admired most about those artists.
Nicki's response was completely dismissive of Gaga as she instead talked up Madonna: "Well, I don't really know Gaga, but Madonna, I had the pleasure of working with her, obviously, and I feel like she's really changed and reinvented not only herself but pop culture. So what inspired me about Madonna is that she's able to balance all of this with her family and her personal life. I was like, 'how do you do this, you know, with your children' and she's a great mom. you know, she's just everything."
She loves Gaga, she just doesn't know her. It's not like she "took" Boomkack from her when Boomkack and Nicki have been working together since the summer of 2010.
Lady Gaga has been orientating the direction her competition takes since she first came out. Whether Nicki wants to realize it or not, Gaga opened that door in the 21st century.
