I cant at you guys getting ahead of yourselves. There is Adele, Rihanna, Katy all those amazing single seelers with new singles out - it would be a miracle for Kelly to notch a week at No.1. Even getting up to itunes No.1 would be a feat, considering the fact that all those well-known names are performing. I hope Kelly can do it, but, due to the fact she has so tough competition i think it is unlikely.

I'm not feeling the title. I wanted something with "Because of You" teas.
But as long as the song is amazing, I am game!

1. Rihanna had two flop singles (man down, California king bed) in a row, the chances of cheers becoming a hit is small.
2. Katy her era is ending
3. Britney and Gaga are going for their forth single which will take time to climp up the chart.
4. Someone like you is a ballad and it's summer so that won't smash until the summer is over.
5. Kelly her lead singles are always highly anticipated so mark my words it will go #1 on itunes. #1 on hot 100 ? a maybe. Depends when and how it's released.

New site sometime really soon I would guess Sunday or Monday since she wil be on the CMA festival on ABC this sunday so why not launch the site after her performance with Jason. Have people see kelly and be like "oh I wonder what she is up to *goes and googles kelly clarkson*" then they find the brand new site with the single news title. Dare I even say the single cover I AM READY

I am pleased to know you are so confident. However, keep in mind that its Autumn, not summer, so Someone Like You, considering the fact that 1. Adele is performing at VMA's 2. Adele is currently a highly anticipated artist due to her album and single doing so well. Other than that, you should know not to underrate Rihanna. Although Man Down and CKB were not reaching the expectations, they were released together, and performances were not given to Man Down. California King Bed meanwhile, as you have mentioned before, ballads are not the right song for the summer. Katy Perry has the best recording company in the world, and they will wreck some havoc to propel Katy to the top. More over, there are other songs that could prevent it- such as the Maroon 5 song that is currently slaying the charts. The Kanye West and Jay Z collob, also HIGHLY anticipated didnt even get to the top.
Its not impossible, but Kelly needs alot of support. She needs the VMA performance, most importantly.

If there is no VMA performance there is not a whole lot of hope for it going to number 1 on hot 100 then again we have the iheartradio concert as well, but once again she will be performing with the huge digital sellers. I think she could get to number one on itunes without the vmas, but it would be a lot harder to do, and the song would have to slay us(which it most likely will. It is Kelly after all)

Man down didn't flopped. Mind you. It was only sent for urban and rythmic airplay if i remember correctly. And it did well there. However CKB more or less flopped since it didn't do well on top 40. you can see how much it struggled to increase spins and AI?Cheers is definitely slaying. look at its radio updates. 1.5m-2m daily updates on radio airplay.
On the other hand, is it confirmed whether kelly is REALLY performing in the vma's? I don't remember seeing any news confirming that. in the upcoming weeks, kelly doesn't have much competition on itunes now. other than maroon 5 who is currently slaying, the rest are likely to go down in sales in the upcoming weeks.

Honestly after my very first listen and to this day I think What Dosen't Kill You would be a guaranteed top #5 and most importantly it would stick around for a while - not just debut with high numbers. It probably would be Kelly's strongest lead single, if you look at pop culture upon her releases to date.
Let Me Down was also a safe top #10 and fitted Kelly's demographics nicely.
However Mr. Know It All, sounds I dunno "I Do Not Hook Up" material, I don't think it will have the mass appeal of the previously mentioned songs. And you say how can I judge that already? Well for one the song title will most likely be sung in the chorus multiple times. I don't know how I feel about that.

My Life Would Suck Without You is an awful title as well, the title means nothing. You can't judge how well a song is gonna do based solely on the title

For the era MLWSWY fitted quite nicely. It set in with the "All I Ever Wanted" look and was a way of showing an upbeat root from Never Again and My December. Also the name is catchy, you remember it, and it gave the opportunity for every host in the world to say "our life would suck without kelly clarkson" in their intros for her performances lol.
I don't see any of those benefits from Mr. Know It All. It sounds as bad as "I Hate Boys" from Bionic lol
I think Kelly just needs clearer marketing direction whether it's on pop or AC; her vocal ability and diversity could bring a lot more to her career than it does now. Honestly she has one of the best voices of this generation, and it gets lost in some of her music to lackluster material

It's rather silly to determine the fate of a song based on the title. At least wait till we hear it. She's coming off a successful crossover country duet. DYWS went top 10 on HAC and it's sitting rather nicely at #6 on AC and could possibly make top 5 on that chart. And lets not forget that "Let Me Down" a freakin' leak was already charting. Radio loves Kelly; they've always hugely supported her first singles. Even during the whole My December fiasco "Never Again" still went top 10 on Hot 100, thanks to radio support. She'll be just fine.

and I instantly compared the vocal to Pink, with how raspy Kelly tries to go with it.

Pink and Kelly have always been compared to each other since they're both the only few girls that are in the pop/rock vein. I read reviews of Funhouse and they compared Pink to Kelly too, so I don't see the problem? That comparison's been made for years now. It says a lot that there's only one other female performer that can be compared to Kelly, and I think Pink is one of the best in current music, so it's a compliment.
