That's me finding some art and then attempting to finally use the photoshop which I bought months ago. Ok, so I'll do:
Top 40 songs
Albums I've enjoyed (no specific countdown)
The 2012 curse on pop (dumpy albums)
I've been browsing ATRL since late 2010 and I finally joined this year so this is my first "best of" thread. I felt like 2012 was a very weak year in top 40 pop / mainstream music but I did enjoy a lot of indie and acts that aren't necessarily top 40 acts. So it gave me a chance to discover new artists. I'll start with the top 40 songs soon!

I haven't been paying attention too much to other people's Best of 2012s, but I'll try to keep up with yours! I'm sure it'll be a good list. And don't worry about your art skills; there's very little art that is worse than mine.
Niki and the Dove definitely made a splash as one of the best new artists to debut this year. I love how her vocals just explode during the chorus. The song sounds inspired by past artists but it is still refreshing.
I thought the Swedish duo's debut was decent for a first try but it could have been better. The singles seem to stand out more than the album tracks probably due to them being louder and ultimately better and more memorable. I think their future efforts could be really great if they find their own voice as artists. But I thought this was a good way to kick off the countdown.
