If she can barely scrape the Top 10 with the most viewed television show in America, then most likely no. The song either has to DELIVER like it would become an instant icon classic, or she'll have to have like 4 feature artist that are hot atm on it.
She needs to collaborate with someone like Rihanna, Katy, or Gaga (as unlikely as that one is) -- that would help make younger people buy her singles. Look at how much Justin helped her out when he was featured in 4 Minutes.
People say she has nothing to prove -- and I agree to an extent -- but I think she'd be disappointed if she never secured a number 1 in this decade. I want to see it happen next era.
probably not - if a song like hung up can only reach no. 7 on the US charts while getting the record for ' the song that hits no. 1 in the most countries worldwide' then it would be unlikely that she would get another no.1 in her career unless - it is proper groundbreaking
"Hung Up" sounded really out of place on American radio though; it was geared more towards the European audience. Same situation with "Can't Get You Out of My Head;" that song went #1 nearly everywhere but also only peaked at #7 in the U.S.
If she discovered RedOne before GaGa did, she could have had another #1.

To be very honest, I think her chances are minimal. If she did not succeed with the Superbowl AND Nicki Minaj AND M.I.A. on one track, she never will. Be realistic.
(The exception would be if she passes away in the near future but that seems highly unlikely.)
