Rapper Kid Ink is poised to make the highest bow on next week's Billboard 200 chart, with his major-label debut, "My Own Lane."
The set, released yesterday (Jan. 7) on Tha Alumni Group/88 Classic through RCA Records, may sell around 40,000 to 45,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Jan. 12.
That should be enough to enable the album to debut at No. 3 on next week's tally.
The new Billboard 200's top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Kid Ink has charted twice previously, with his debut studio set "Up & Away" (No. 20 in 2012) and his first EP for RCA, "Almost Home" (No. 27 in 2013).
Beyonce's self-titled album may return to No. 1 on the chart next week, while the list's current champ, the soundtrack to "Frozen," could dip to No. 2. "Frozen" ruled the chart this week with 165,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, while "Beyonce" fell 1-2 with 130,000.
Neither album is expected to sell more than 100,000 in the week ending Jan. 12, which is typical for this time of year.
In January, after the busy holiday shopping season -- and a slew of big-named acts releasing albums in the fourth quarter -- there usually is a quiet period on the chart where few albums sell in large quantities. (Comparatively, a year ago next week, the top selling album was Chris Tomlin's "Burning Lights," with 73,000 copies sold.)
