And obviously she's more like Madonna, though i don't understand the need to refer to her as the "black" version, anymore than referring to her as the Barbadian version.

I'd say she's the black madonna. The farmer thing where she's got her boobs out? ... confirmed this for me.......it's something madonna has done/would do. her attitude, her fashion, the way she reinvents herself every era of her music. Hell, her and chris brown reminds me of madonna and sean penn. Too many simalarities between them.....

Rihanna draws inspiration from all of them in different eras. Her fashion during GGGB was Janet to the extreme. Her fashion for this era is very Mariah/ 90's. But yeah, she pulls the Madonna card the most with a reinvention every era. She dyes and changes her wardrobe. Anyways, it's hard to say which one she uses the most, considering we haven't seen this era.

I didn't reduce her to anything. That's who she said she wanted to be.

Neither.
She is too generic sometimes, also she doesnt have that wow factor like Madonna and she doesnt have an incredible voice like Mariah Carey. She is more like a Janet or Beyoncé.(except the fact that Bey and Janet can dance well while Ri can't)

The only time she truly reinvented herself was the Rated R era. The music, the fashion and the hair were all a part of a very concrete vision. I wouldn't really consider dying your hair period red and making a compilation of radio friendly dance tracks and generic power ballads reinvention.
