Grammy Predictions:
RECORD OF THE YEAR:
We had many hits this year. Pharrell Williams' " Happy", John Legend's " All Of Me" and Bastille's " Pompeii" would have been locks in this category if they weren't already eligible for the last year's awards. This means they are ineligible for this year, right? No, wrong. The live versions of the songs were submitted here, but what are the chances of these songs, honestly? The Academy has not nominated any live versions of songs in this category in the last 20 years at least, would they give nominations not for one, but for three live performances, all at once? And would they not nominate "Happy", which was undoubtedly the greatest song of the year? There are many questions with unknown answers in the category making this category unpredictable. Although, Idina Menzel's " Let It Go" and Sam Smith's " Stay With Me" are likely to join them if they make it, but don't count " Shake It Off", " Dark Horse" or even " All About That Bass" out of the competition.
Record of The Year Predictions
A Lock?:
1. Pharrell Williams, “Happy” (Live)
Extremely Likely To Join Him:
2. Sam Smith, “Stay With Me”
3. Idina Menzel, “Let It Go”
Battling It Out For The Last Two Slots:
4. Taylor Swift, “Shake It Off”
5. Beyoncé f/ Jay-Z, “Drunk In Love”
6. MAGIC!, “Rude”
7. Katy Perry f/Juicy J, “Dark Horse”
8. A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera, “Say Something”
9. Nico & Vinz, “Am I Wrong?”
Heavyweights (But They're Live Performances):
10. John Legend, “All Of Me” (Live)
11. Bastille, “Pompeii” (Live)
Potential Spoilers:
12. Coldplay, “A Sky Full Of Stars”
13. Sia, “Chandelier”
14. Eminem f/ Rihanna, “The Monster”
15. Iggy Azalea f/ Charli XCX, “Fancy”
16. Meghan Trainor, “All About That Bass”
Dark Horses (But They Could Surprise):
17. Arctic Monkeys, “Do I Wanna Know?”
18. Tove Lo, “Habits (Stay High)”
19. Ed Sheeran, “Don’t”
20. Justin Timberlake, “Not A Bad Thing”
21. Hozier, “Take Me To Church”
Dream Nominee:
22. Paramore, “Ain’t It Fun”
SONG OF THE YEAR:
There are already two locks in this category this year: Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez for the Oscar winner for Best Original Song, " Let It Go" and Sam Smith, James Napier & William Phillips powerful ballad " Stay With Me". The biggest question is: to whom belongs the last three slots? My first bet goes to " All About That Bass", which could be the "Roar" of this year (or even the shocker "Call Me Maybe" of two years ago). The two remaining slots could go to " Don't" (don't forget that Ed Sheeran was surprisely nominated two years ago for "The A Team"), " Drunk In Love" or even a surprise like " Do I Wanna Know?". Although, never forget, the Grammys is not easy to predict as the Oscars.
Song of The Year Predictions
Locks?:
1. “Stay With Me” - Sam Smith, James Napier & William Phillips
2. “Let It Go” – Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez
Strong Contenders:
3. “Drunk In Love” - Beyoncé Knowles, Noel Fisher, Shawn Carter, Andre Eric Proctor, Rasool Diaz, Boots, Brian Soko, Timothy Mosley & Jerome Harmon
4. “Don’t” – Ed Sheeran & Benjamin Levin
5. “Am I Wrong?” - William Wiik Larsen, Nico Sereba & Vincent Dery
6. “Rude” - Nasri Atweh, Adam Messinger, Mark Pellizzer, Ben Spivak & Alex Tanas
7. “Say Something’” - Ian Axel, Chad Vaccarino & Mike Campbell
8. “Do I Wanna Know?” – Alex Turner
9. “The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)” – Bono & The Edge
The “Call Me Maybe” Of This Year?:
10. “All About That Bass” – Kevin Kadish & Meghan Trainor
They Could Definitely Move Up:
11. “Take Me To Church” - Andrew Hozier-Byrne
12. “Shake It Off” – Taylor Swift, Shellback & Max Martin
13. “Maps” - Adam Levine, Ryan Tedder, Benjamin Levin, Ammar Malik & Noel Zancanella
14. “Chandelier” – Sia Fuller & Jesse Shatkin
15. “Fancy” - Amethyst Kelly, Charlotte Aitchison, George Astasio, Jason Pebworth, Jon Shave & Kurtis McKenzie
Dream Nominee:
16. “The Moon Song” – Karen O & Spike Jonze
ALBUM OF THE YEAR:
This category is unusually weak this year, so everything could happen here. The only one lock here is Beyoncé's self-titled album, but didn't we say this about Justin Timberlake last year? Also, don't be surprised if " Frozen" soundtrack gets a nomination here due to weak competition.
Album of The Year Predictions
Lock:
1. Beyoncé, “Beyoncé”
This Is The Best Selling Album Of The Year, Will The Academy Give It A Chance?:
2. Various Artists, “Frozen”
Four Albums, Three Slots:
3. Sam Smith, “In The Lonely Hour”
4. Ed Sheeran, “X”
5. Sia, “1000 Forms of Fear”
6. Jack White, "Lazaretto"
Potential Spoilers:
7. The Black Keys, “Turn Blue”
8. Katy Perry, “Prism”
9. Arcade Fire, “Reflektor”
10. Coldplay, “Ghost Stories”
Given The Weak Year, They’re Contenders Too:
11. Eminem, “The Marshall Mathers LP2”
12. Iggy Azalea, “The New Classic”
13. Tony Bennett & Lady GaGa, “Cheek To Cheek”
14. Bastille, “All This Bad Blood”
15. Lana Del Rey, “Ultraviolence”
16. Pharrell Williams, “G I R L”
Veterans Who Are Always Contenders:
17. Bruce Springsteen, “High Hopes”
18. Barbra Streisand, “Partners”
19. Robert Plant, "Lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar"
Dream Nominee:
20. Tove Lo, “Queen Of The Clouds”
BEST NEW ARTIST:
Looks like it's Sam Smith's to lose in this category, but don't forget that the Grammys surprised us few years ago with Esperanza Spalding. Iggy Azalea, American Authors, Nico & Vinz and Bastille are likely to join him, but Birdy, Paloma Faith or even Jhené Aiko can be the surprise nominee of the year.
Best New Artist Predictions
The Frontrunner (And Likely Winner, Who Are We Kidding?):
1. Sam Smith
Definitely Contenders:
2. Iggy Azalea
3. American Authors
4. Nico & Vinz
5. Bastille
Don’t Count Them Out Of Competition:
6. Paloma Faith
7. Birdy
8. Disclosure
9. MAGIC!
10. Tove Lo
11. Haim
12. Childish Gambino
13. Jhené Aiko
14. Cole Swindell
15. Banks
16. Vance Joy
Dream Nominee:
17. FKA Twigs

Looking at your Song of the Year picks, it makes it ironic that this year we will have many live tracks ending up nominated for the big categories since the originals was overlooked

On your most recent countdown, I like 9/10 of the songs because I haven't heard the last one, so I'll check it out.
For your predictions for the Grammys, I don't know if I really see that many live performances being nominated for Record Of the Year. Maybe Happy or All Of Me. I think Beyoncé f/ Jay-Z, “Drunk In Love”
A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera, “Say Something,” Sia "Chandelier" Katy Perry f/ Juicy J "Dark Horse" and Sam Smith "Stay With Me" with Sam taking it. I would also like Latch to be considered.
I pretty much agree with song of the year and I agree with album, although I could see Frozen or Robert Plant's album contending.
It's Sam's Grammy to lose for Best New Artist. I'm hoping for a Disclosure upset though!

I 've been thinking about ROTY, and I confess that I changed my mind. As I said before, there were no live performances nominated for ROTY at least in the last 20 years. I also like Disclosure and "Latch", but I don't think they're Grammy-friendly even in a performance with Sam Smith. I will also update soon the predictions, and thanks for reminding me of Robert Plant!
