According to ATRL, Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" is a pop classic. However, the numbers tell a different story.

3. Wide Awake
4. Part Of Me
5. The One That Got Away
6. E.T.

For an era renowned for its amazing visuals, the Teenage Dream video sticks out like a sore thumb for its lack of memorable moments, cliched and vague storyline and overall uninteresting nothingness. You probably didn't even remember what it looked like until you watched it back just now.
Perhaps this is why it's the only video from the Teenage Dream era yet to crack 300M... no, 250M... uh... 200M? views; a non-achievement even "flop" singles Unconditionally and This Is How We Do were able to easily reach.
So what's the reason for this song's embarrassing overall and
current streaming performance (according to Kworb it averages 50k views per day, making it her 17th most popular video even behind I Kissed a Girl). Is it really just a bad song that the GP have forgotten about? Did the video kill it? Remember talent always wins, so that says a lot...

The GP has such flop taste, but yeah, the boring video didn't help.

The video is boring and the song is just ok compared to other masterpieces on TD

Because it's not that interesting.

It's her best song ever but it's kind of forgotten. Got lost among all the smashes. Her "Crazy for You".

Maybe from a cinematic standpoint, but it has no replay value. Katy's "silly" and "children-friendly" videos tend to get the most views.

I mean, I was a casual pop stan at the time, and I never knew the song existed until I heard Cali Gurls, E.T. and LFN.
It was a hit, but not as big as her others from that era (even TOTGA).

Because it's her worst song. It's only praised and loved on ATRL

Because it's not a classic, I don't get why most Kats overrate that song's success so much

Best pop song of the decade being disserviced by the GP...
I am probably 100 million of those streams even though I own the alberm.

Because talent sometimes loses. It got sandwiched between two bigger hits and we're lucky it even reached #1.

It is unfortunately the least remembered TD single
Masterpieces are often ignored by the GP!

Also, if it weren't for the bland vid, it would clearly be much bigger. It's bigger on Spotify than three of the others. Like a dark horse.
