Britney Spears' Baby One More Of Time of course. She was the reason why female popstars around her time became more prevalent with this song. It definitely has a greater impact in pop culture than CIL.
AI peak for Hit Me Baby One More Time 85 million
AI peak for Crazy In Love 190 million
Weeks at #1 in the US for Hit Me Baby One More Time- 2
Weeks at #1 in the US for Crazy In Love- 8
Also "Crazy In Love" was named Song of the decade by RS.
And "Crazy In Love" video spurned the uh oh dance craze.
It's interesting so many of you say Britney.
ATRL is Britney biased of course.
I knew people were going to pick BOMT just because CIL is not only a better song, but its arrival smashed nearly every female artist of her peers out the game. She had artists step their game up tremendously. No more getting by with Ashanti like dancing and vocals.
As for performances, Britney never really did much for the album version of BOMT. She would always do a lazy version of the video choreography. The only time she really put effort into it was when it was later remixed or with an added new break down.
"Baby One More Time" had a bigger impact but I prefer "Crazy In Love".

Anyway, "...Baby One More Time" is fantastic and has had more cultural impact, but "Crazy in Love" is one of the greatest songs of all time. (No pun intended)

First performance of Baby One More Time
First performance of Crazy in Love
First off, ATRL has just as many beyonce stans as they do brit stans so let's not. Not everything is bias, you just need to accept that people disagree with what YOU think.
Second of all that was britney's FIRST performance of a singer. Beyonce was coming from performing with destiny's child so she had more experience as a performer. That Crazy in love performance was nothing special anyway.

Ummm, wasn't Britney in Star Search and the Mickey Mouse Club for two seasons? Its far from her 'first performance' as a singer.
